For the refurbishment of The MarePineta Resort in Milano Marittima, the Salaroli brothers chose Fiandre Architectural Surfaces for the brand’s ability to combine great beauty with proven durability.
The MarePineta Resort is an historical hotel in Milano Marittima, Italy. It was built in the 1920s and has recently been given a new lease of life thanks to a full renovation by Salaroli, the Forlì-based company that also has showrooms in Faenza, Ravenna, Bologna, Rimini, and Cesena.
Surrounded by an ancient pine grove and located just a few steps from the sea, MarePineta Resort quickly put Milano Marittima on the map, establishing itself as an icon of style and elegance on the Romagna Riviera.
It has the generous dimensions of hotels of days gone by: 182 rooms, and over 10,000 sq. metres of tennis courts, swimming pools, and gardens. The resort’s private beach is another star attraction, covering an area of over 11,000 sq. metres and complete with beach bar, restaurant, and lounge area.
The recent restyling project, by Milan-based Studio Lissoni, had a brief to create a luxury oasis of hospitality, service, and comfort, restoring the property’s original splendour and combining its illustrious past with contemporary lifestyle. Davide Salaroli and Giancarlo Salaroli, respectively CEO and Chairman of Salaroli SpA, wanted to make guests feel at home in a warm, welcoming space with a far more modern feel than before.
Stage one of the project involved the complete rebuilding of the exterior of the restaurant, deliberately created with a totally different style, before moving on to the renovation of the ground floor, guest rooms, conference rooms, club house, beach establishment, and spa.
For the exterior front area next to the hotel entrance, and for the beach establishment pathways leading from the club house to the beach, Fiandre Architectural Surfaces developed custom paving designed to meet the client’s requirements, providing a turnkey service. For bathroom flooring in the main complex, meanwhile, the Taxos Maximum texture, in a honed finish, was selected.
Wellbeing is the leitmotif that links every aspect of the experience on offer at the MarePineta Resort. From the superb comfort of the guest rooms, and the excellent cuisine served up by Michelin-star chef Andrea Ribaldone, to the ample space dedicated to countless recreational facilities, the attentive and discreet service, and the resort’s veritable pièce de résistance: the MarePineta Private Spa by Clarins.
Designed by architect Davide Cerini, the Spa is one of the projects that really sets the historical five-star hotel apart as Milano Marittima’s ultimate haven of hospitality and wellness.
With 437 sq. metres of welcoming space, covered with large slabs from Fiandre Architectural Surfaces, it is the pride and joy of the resort. The Spa is an oasis of peace and tranquillity where clients can rediscover health and beauty; a seamless fusion of aesthetics and functionality designed to instil tranquillity, harmony, and serenity. Each space is crafted to convey a different mood, which has brought out the design potential of coverings offered by Fiandre Architectural Surfaces, which are used to stunning effect on floors and walls.
The floors feature Quiet Rock surfaces from the Quietstones Maximum collection in 1,500 by 1,500mm XXL format slabs, plus Calacatta Elite from the Marmi Maximum collection in even larger 3,000 by 1,500mm slabs with a gloss finish. The latter texture is also the covering selected for walls, which are embellished with two more captivating textures, again in a large slab format: Eminent Brown from the Eminent Wood Maximum collection in a Satin version, and Pietra Grey from the Marmi Maximum collection in the gloss version.
An icon of style since the 1920’s, MarePineta Resort has now been reborn as a captivating modern classic: a relaxing home-from-home for the discerning traveller and a stunning showcase for Fiandre Architectural Surfaces.
