Motto Tiles, the ceramic manufacturer founded in Morbi, Gujarat, India in 2003, has developed a new facility equipped with System Lamina technology for the production of porcelain panels and slabs in sizes up to 1,200 by 2,400mm in thicknesses between 6mm and 20mm.
The Indian company, led by Chairman Mahendra Patel, opted for a Lamgea 22000t press which, when fully operational, will have an output of up to 12,000 sq. metres per day, thereby increasing the Motto Group’s total production capacity to 80,000 sq. metres per day.
Inkjet decoration is performed using Creadigit 8 colour bar systems which offer a high degree of flexibility and scope for customisation.
In conjunction with the line for production of more conventional sizes, the new plant will enable Motto Group to strengthen its position in both the domestic and international markets. “We export to 40 countries worldwide,” says Motto Group. “By adopting System’s innovative industrial processes we expect to increase our total production by around 30 to 40%. We chose the Lamgea press for its reliability and ease of maintenance.”
The first ranges to be produced in the new line, in 1,200 by 2,400mm, 800 by 2,400mm, 800 by 1,600mm and 1,200 by 1200mm formats, were unveiled by Motto Tile during a trade fair held in Gandhinagar late last year.
